Romantic film title

For this film title of "Love Actually" it is designed in a way to represent the genre. The style of the film title is very simple but effective. It uses it's colours to symbolise love. So the title uses red on "Love" to show this. Red is the colour of love so it uses Rick Altman's theory of using signs to create semantic elements. Another element is that it is made bold to make it clear to the audience. The rest of the title is made black to blend the colours together. The house style continues to the movie posters advertising this film. It really sets the theme and the mood for the film as it explores multiple relationships. As this film is represented as a classic the title is very memorable because of it's simplicity so that's why it is such a design.

Notting Hill is another classic in the Rom Com genre that has a memorable film title. As "Love Actually" it is made quite simple but because of its design it's effective. The colours of this film title are blue for the text and red for the underline. The G in "Notting" cuts of the underline. The text is not made bold but it makes it quiet lively with the colours. It does set the mood for the movie.

This film title for "about Time" follows almost the same design as "Love Actually" with one of the words being bold and the other not. However on this it switched instead of the first word being bold its the second. What's different however is that it has 1 colour for the title which is white where "Love Actually" had 2 colours with 1 being symbolised. From what I have researched it is clear that most Romantic comedy film titles are created simple but used font styles and colours to create effect. These titles can help give us good ideas that we can adapt into our film title of "Endless".

Group Risk Assessment on Locations

Location risks
in the school building the risks could be formed in the abandonment of equipment for visually impaired students who could hurt themselves if our equipment was left untended , as well as the possible damage of equipment. to over come this risk the equipment should always be watched over.
another risk could be the inclusion of school students who have not consented to being in the scene, to reduce the occurrence of this risk we should film after school or during lessons to decrease the amount of children present.
when we are filming in bedrooms for scenes where charlie is younger then older we could risk the safety of the equipment and or actors because of tripping hazards from prop placement being in the way of the filming process. in the younger Charlies' bedroom we have planned for her to run into the room, this could mean our actor runs into objects hurting herself. to overcome this risk we decided to make sure that the floor of the room was clear, for ease of actor movement and also because we could have experienced issues when we attempted to move the tripod and camera around the small spaces. another precaution we could take especially when moving the camera would be to pick the tripod up to move it more easily as not to let the legs of the tripod catch on the floors. In the room we have chosen to use for Older Charlie's room there are a set of stairs going up to the room, a precaution we could take to reduce risk of damage involving the stairs is stay away from them, film from angles not close to the top of the stairs. This would be important as we should be cautious of damaging the equipment from dropping it down the stairs causing a greater amount of damage than dropping it on a floor.

Film title research

This is famous film title from the movie "The Godfather" which is the one of the best mafia films of its generation. The design of it makes it so iconic cause it describes how the godfather takes control. The hand controlling puppet strings represents the control has over his mafia members. He orders the hits and control his territories around the city. The font style is rather bold and follows the typical Noire font style which is iconic to the 1940's period. The white font makes it stand out from the black background and the image above the name shows a contrast between the two colours making it so symbolic.

Star Trek is one of the most iconic Sci-Fi franchise and it has lasted 50 years. The franchise has lots of TV series and films. The style of the "Star Trek" name has changed occasionally throughout its 50 year life. However it still holds it iconic value in the Sci-Fi genre. The title has changed colour but its always fit with the theme. The font is bold and slanted on one side to give more of a Sci-Fi effect.  The background behind the title is Space or a dark background which is main stereotypical element of a Sci-Fi movie.

Below is examples of film titles in this franchise.

Audience feedback on film logo

To gather feedback we created a questionnaire to ask our audience about what are film logo should be. This would give us a clear idea to what our logo should look like. The main question we wanted to know was "what would you imagine a romantic comedy film title?". The response we received from our audience is that our film title should be "sleek, cute, fun, simple, use of feminine colours, pretty, eye catching, bright and easy to read" with this feedback we could develop our logo and above is what we created. Below is the results of the feedback.

As you can see 10 people answered the questionnaire and choice 5 got the most votes. 5 is the picture above.  Choice 5 had 50% while the rest was scattered between the rest of the choices. the second most votes was choice 4 with 30%.  Choice 1 and 3 both got 10% which makes up the remaining percentage.
