Project brief

The aim of the project to create products that will be used to market a upcoming film. The course is split into three areas, research and planning, construction and evaluation. Here are the percentages for each area:

20% Research and Planning

60% Construction
  • comprising
    • 40% Main products: a theatrical movie trailer and a teaser trailer
    • 10% Ancillary products 1: a billboard poster and an A4 poster
    • 10% Ancillary products 2: a movie magazine front cover and a DVD front cover
20% Evaluation

To promote the film we come up with we have to create a billboard poster and a A4 poster which will represent it. Also we create a movie magazine front cover and a DVD front cover which will be released for the public. These will be done in a production team of three members. Together we have to create the trailer using the skills that we will learn for camera, camera shots and the production side for props and costume. 

In the end the trailer must be 60 seconds maximum and should represent the genre chosen from the 4 provided. The selected genres are:


  • Western gunfight
  • Horror chase
  • A romantic encounter
  • A gangster deal
